Proposing a special issue

Send a one-page proposal to editor@exposomejournal.com covering: scope, named guest editors, anticipated submissions, target publication date, and any partner organisations or funding.

Editorial responsibilities

Guest editors handle reviewer assignment, decision recommendations, and the editorial of the issue. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on every manuscript and may override guest-editor recommendations.

Conflict of interest

Guest editors must declare conflicts at the start of an issue and recuse from their own submissions to that issue (handled by the Editor-in-Chief independently).

Timeline

Special issues typically run on a 9-month timeline: 3 months call, 3 months review, 3 months production. Compressed timelines are negotiable for time-sensitive topics.
